My journey into product ownership comes from a lifelong interest in building and a desire to empower others. I was drawn to software development, but my high school project management courses showed me that I had a special talent for that area as well. This realization, paired with my technical background, led me to become a product owner. I enjoy connecting technical teams and the business side, ensuring that everyone focuses on delivering valuable solutions. My hands-on experience helps me understand the technical details and dig deep into product discovery, effectively validating ideas before writing any code.
My mentoring philosophy is shaped by my desire to give back and share practical knowledge. Inspired by my mother's caring nature as a nurse, I believe in teaching through real experience—offering lessons I've learned firsthand instead of giving detached advice. I want to help aspiring and intermediate product owners grow quickly, giving them the confidence and skills they need to succeed. While I'm still improving my leadership coaching skills, I currently focus on guiding individuals through key stages in their product ownership careers. I emphasize areas like product discovery, effective communication, and providing direct, actionable advice tailored to their individual challenges. It's incredibly rewarding to see their progress and contribute to their success.
I value a well-rounded life, so when I step away from work, I look for balance. My love for the outdoors, especially hiking, comes from my upbringing in the beautiful Austrian countryside and the calm it brings me. I also have a unique interest in building custom mechanical split-keyboards. Additionally, I enjoy reading to broaden my horizons and embrace lifelong learning. After growing up in rural Austria, I eventually made my way to Hong Kong, where I've embraced a lively life that continuously enriches my global perspective.
